Carol B. Mannis, known to her family as “Barbi” and to her friends as “Bobby”, passed away Wednesday April 9, 2014 in Cushing at the age of 75 years.
The daughter of the late Virgil Thomas Scribner and Elva Rene Brookshire Scribner, Barbi was born on July 6, 1938 in Cushing and was raised and educated in Cushing.
Barbi was a retired Maveric Mini Mart employee and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, watching television and spending time with her family and friends. She adored her son Oscar, her niece and nephew, and her great niece and great nephew. Another joy of her life was being able to celebrate the holidays with her family and friends.
Survivors include one sister Ida Patterson and her husband Edgar of Cushing; a niece Karen Cook; a nephew Marty Patterson; a great-niece Shelly Huddleston; a great nephew Matthew Patterson, and other relatives and friends, including her friends at the Cimarron Towers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Oscar Lee Mannis.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ned McCarty officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
