(Tulsa, Okla.) Pollstar (www.pollstar.com), has just released their 2016 year end ticket sales numbers and the historic Cain’s Ballroom here in Tulsa, Oklahoma came in ranked #21 in the world in 2016 with 119,203 tickets sold from January 1st, 2016 to December 31st, 2016. Our year end numbers with Pollstar unfortunately don’t include the following shows (The Lacs on 12/10/16 – 861 tickets sold, EDGE Christmas Show on 12/14/16 – 1,640 tickets sold, Texas Hippie Coalition on 12/29/16 – 700 tickets sold, Turnpike Troubadours on 12/30/16 – 1,751 tickets sold or Turnpike Troubadours on 12/31/16 – 1,735 tickets sold), as adding these shows totals would actually make us #19 and put us with a total of 125,890 tickets sold for 2016 (these were omitted due to a reporting deadline).
All of these venues are classified in the club category and have capacities of 3,000 or less. Cain’s Ballroom’s capacity is 1,800.
2016 was another great year filled with a number of highlights and many amazing shows. Some of them include a 2 night sell out with Turnpike Troubadours to end the year, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, the Violent Femmes, Leon Bridges, Marshmello, Cole Swindell, Die Antwoord, Cody Johnson Band, Band of Horses, Gary Clark Jr., Awolnation and many, many more (too many to list). We ended up with 30 sellouts during the year.
We can’t thank everyone enough for their continued support, as we strive to continue to bring top notch talent/music to the city of Tulsa. We couldn’t do what we do without your support!
And If you haven’t noticed or heard the news, we are shut down this month in order to replace the Cain’s wood floor with a new wood floor.
We intend for Cain’s patrons to enjoy the same experience that they always have, but in the interest of safety, we need to replace the floor.
Come check out the new wood floor on February 4th, when we re-open with a show with the Eli Young Band. We have made a sincere effort to ensure that our patrons will not be disappointed in the new wood floor or in any other part of the Cain’s experience.
