(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
An injury collision occurred on September 6th (2018) at approximately at 2:19 pm on State Highway 16, 8/10 of a mile west of South 289th West Avenue, 3 miles east of Bristow, in Creek County.
Darren W. Turner (48) of Bristow was driving a 2002 Honda XT8 Motorcycle westbound on State Highway 16 when he was attempting to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle dropped off of the edge of the pavement and struck gravel. Turner then lost control and struck the ground and continued on traveling west, striking a ditch.
Turner was transported by Creek County EMS to St. John Hospital (Tulsa).
According to the DPS report a helmet was in use.
