Brenda Joyce (Williamson) Gibby, age 64 of Cushing, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 15, 2009. She passed away in her home surrounded by family and friends after a brief battle with cancer.
Although her time on earth was short, Joyce touched many lives, and her family and friends feel blessed to have known her love and experience her zest for life. Joyce lived life to the fullest. She went through life with a special kind of determination and strength, and those that know her best agree that she was filled with spunkiness. Her laughter and smile were contagious as she took pleasure in sharing funny stories and jokes with her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, reading, and listening to classic country, southern gospel and Elvis music.
Joyce was born September 28, 1944 in Edwardsville, IL to Louis E. Williamson and Mary L. (Pace) Williamson. She moved to Stillwater, OK at age 13 and attended Stillwater Public Schools. Joyce lived in several other places during her life, but she loved Oklahoma and chose to settle here and called it home. On February 14, 2004 she married her best friend and the love of her life David E. Gibby, and they shared many joyous times together.
