Bonnie Jean Watkins Ausbrook, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 in the Drumright Hospital at the age of 88 years.
Bonnie was born South of Agra on October 28, 1922 to the late William C. and Cindy Parsons Watkins. She was raised in Agra and graduated from Agra High School in 1941.
She was united in marriage to Clarence McFarland and to this union one son, Robert Allen “Bob” McFarland was born. She later married Leroy Koble and he preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Billy Jo Ausbrook.
Bonnie was a member of the First Christian Church. She built the Copper Kettle in Oilton; worked as an admission clerk at the old Drumright Hospital and worked as a hostess for McDonald’s for over 17 years. She loved serving coffee at McDonald’s and received the 2008 McDonald’s Southwest Region Employee of the Year. She also enjoyed oil paintings and had enjoyed being in a bowling league when she was younger.
Bonnie is survived by one son Robert Allen McFarland and his wife Gladys of Oilton; 5 grandchildren, Mitch McFarland and his wife DeAnna of Oklahoma City, Monte McFarland of Oklahoma City, Allen Kershman of Arizona, Farrah Big Pond and her husband Troy of Oilton and Mason McFarland and Juliet Wilson of Oilton; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law William Williamson of Kingston and Samuel Kobel and his wife Kay of Cushing and numerous other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 4 brothers, Lucille Mathews, Earl Watkins, Merl Watkins, Orval Watkins, Lyla Sayers, Violet Morgan, Ervin Watkins and Ruby Williamson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Reverend Larry Haney and Reverend Kevin Clouse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Serving as casket-bearers will be George Sitsinger, Burk Williamson, Ray Watkins, Danny Watkins, Jimmy Morgan, Walter Watkins and Randy Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Walbridge, Gary Babinec, Greg Babinec, Jack Brownley, Bill Acklin and Jerry Holderread.
The family will greet friends on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 6 – 8 in the Floyd Family Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 300 East Moses, Cushing, OK, in her memory.
