Media release (Cushing PD)
(Cushing, OK, April 11, 2024) — On November 11, 2023, 26-year-old Zachary Kyle Brasel was reported missing to the Cushing Police Department. Zachary Brasel was last seen on October 23, 2023. Cushing Police Department requested the investigative assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation on November 16, 2023.
On April 2, 2024, a body was found in a densely wooded area Northeast of the 1200 block of N. Highland Avenue. Cushing Police and O.S.B.I. crime scene technician responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation did not indicate foul play was involved. Following the investigation at the scene the body was released to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office for formal cause of death and identification.
On April 4, 2024, the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity as Zachary Kyle Brasel.
No other information will be released until the State Medical Examiner has issued a formal cause of death.
