(Cushing, Okla) — Long-time City of Cushing employee Bob Noltensmeyer was honored for his service to the community at Monday night’s meeting of the Cushing Board of Commissioners. Noltensmeyer has served in Emergency Management for nearly 50 years, with almost half of those in the position of Emergency Management Director for the City of Cushing. His retirement will commence on August 27, 2021.
As a thank you, Chairman of the Board B.J. Roberson presented Noltensmeyer with a proclamation and a clock to remind him of the time spent with the City of Cushing. One by one, each of the commissioners expressed their thanks to Noltensmeyer for a job well done and wished him well as he begins the next chapter of his life’s journey.
Noltensmeyer thanked City Manager Terry Brannon, the commissioners and all the volunteers who have helped him throughout the years. “The thing about it is, you’ve got to have volunteers to support you,” he said. “You can’t do it by yourself.” He went on to wish whomever replaces him all the best, along with “a decent salary and benefits.”
No replacement has been named as yet.
Noltensmeyer and his wife Jan plan on traveling around the country visiting places they love or have not seen together.
A retirement celebration will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 2 – 4 pm at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 300 E Moses, Cushing. Event information here: Happy Retirement Come & Go Party
