Blanche Catherine Davis, a Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010 in Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 98 years.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Cushing with Mr. Ken Murrell officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Blanche was born on September 2, 1911 in Grape Vine Prairie, Tx to the late Daniel E. and Effie (Isbell) Rice.  Blanche graduated from Fairview High School in 1929.  Blanche attended Cordell Women’s College and graduated in 1931.  Blanche married Grover Davis on April 19, 1936.  He was a Church of Christ minister.   They moved around to numerous churches throughout the years.  She was a devoted Christian lady who loved to serve the Lord.

Blanche was a hairdresser in Oklahoma City for a number of years and later worked in a cafeteria.  Blanche liked to work crossword puzzles, cook and garden.  Blanche loved having family gatherings, especially playing dominoes.

Blanche is survived by her sons Steve Davis and wife Linda of Cushing, Phillip Ellis Davis of Tucson, Az., James Daniel Davis of Plano, Tx., daughter -in-law Thurlene Davis of Woodward,

Grandchildren Lezlea Bryant and husband Ricky, Christi Gallagher and husband Jim, Tanya Peters and husband Mike, Tori Dhimmar and husband Bobby, great grandchildren RanDea Bryant, Zachary Peters.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Grover Davis, infant son Grover Augustus Jr., brothers Jack Rice and Howard Rice, sister Mary Booker.
