Betty (Hazlip) Storts Manley, a longtime Oilton resident and most recently of Tulsa, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the age of 82 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton, OK and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Oilton with Reverend Ralph Mehrens and Reverend Larry Calvert officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Oilton, OK.

The daughter of the late Albert Hazlip and Anna (Hard) Hazlip, Betty was born on September 4, 1928 in Hominy, OK.  She was reared and educated in the Oilton area.  Betty was united in marriage to Paul A. Storts on September 7, 1946 in Winfield, KS and to this union three children, Doug, Bev, and Jayne, were born.  Betty and her husband Paul moved to Beaumont, TX in 1956 where she attended beautician school.  They moved back to Oilton in 1962 where they spent the rest of their married life.  Paul preceded her in death on October 31, 1990.

Betty had owned and operated B. J.’s Beauty Salon in Oilton where she worked with her daughter Jayne for several years.

She later married Carl Manley on March 7, 2001 in Bentonville, AR and welcomed his children, Carla and Gary, into her family.  The couple moved from Oilton to Tulsa in 2008 and Carl preceded Betty in death on May 11, 2011.

In her spare time, Betty enjoyed gardening and numerous lake activities.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a Mother Advisor for Rainbows, and had served on the Oilton City Council.  She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oilton and later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Oilton.

Survivors include one brother, Bill Hazlip and his wife Oleta of Spring Hill, TN; five children, Doug Storts and his wife Nancy of Mannford, OK, Bev Travis and her husband Martin of Park Hill, OK, Jayne Burk and her husband Bob of Mannford, OK, Carla Cash of Pasadena, TX, and Gary Manley and his wife Vickie of Nacogdoches, TX; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Mehrens and Shirley Stallard, and three brothers, Otis, Neil, and Tiny Hazlip.
