It was proven once again that when folks join forces, great things can happen…

Love INC, Granny’s Pantry, area churches and fellow Christians joined forces to help struggling families get ready for the new school year.  Cushing schools start Thursday, Aug. 20th.

New clothes and shoes, school supplies, and hair cuts were distributed Saturday at the First Free Will Baptist Church – along with free hot dogs, soft drinks, chips and cookies.  Inside the church sanctuary, there was a little shopping going on as well – gently used clothing items for anyone who wanted them.

The event was held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., but according to LoveINC board member Marilyn Duff, folks lined up early.  “You should have seen it at 8:30!” she said.  “There were so many people here…”

Unfortunately, school supplies and new clothing ran out before the people did, but overall it was a huge success – and all due to the generosity of others!
