Once again, the two-time United States Equestrian Drill Champions (USEDC) Canadian Valley Rangerettes will be performing at the Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo, July 9th and 10th. For more than 40 years the Rangerettes have been promoting the participation of women who enjoy horseback riding, as well as the preservation of the art of Equestrian Drill. They are noted as the longest running equestrian drill team in the state of Oklahoma.
Over those 40 plus years, many enthusiastic cowgirls have proudly worn the red, white and blue representing their heritage – thrilling audiences with their high-paced equestrian drill routines performed to music. In 2009, they not only brought home their third consecutive title of Rodeo Division Champions, but placed first in the Rodeo Division in the OKEDA Region 4 competition held in Duncan, Ok. In addition to those accomplishments, the Canadian Valley Rangerettes have captured one of the most prestigious awards in the USEDC Super Ride – they had the privilege to compete in the Ride of Champions – capturing the SportsQuest Cup Award in both 2008 and 2009.
On September 12, 2009 Governor Brad Henry proclaimed it to be Canadian Valley Rangerette day in the state of Oklahoma at the Western Days celebration in Mustang, Oklahoma.
