Saturday will be a “shred letter day” in Cushing for citizens wanting to securely destroy sensitive documents.  The American Document Shredding Company will be in town Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at City Hall.

In cooperation with the shredding company, the City of Cushing is offering the service for FREE.

Citizens are encouraged to bring no more than 5 standard boxes of sensitive documents (ie: old bank statements, checks, forms that may contain personal information, etc.) to be securely destroyed.  In addition, members of the police and fire departments will be present to distribute public awareness information.

General Manager Steve Spears said, “This is another opportunity to provide a very beneficial service to our most valuable stakeholders, our citizens.  I and members of the City Commission hope our community will embrace this public service and make it work for them so they will lessen the chance of becoming an unsuspecting victim of identity theft.”
