(Stillwater) – An Altus woman has been charged in Payne County District court with attempting to smuggle marijuana and Xanax into the Cimarron Correctional Facility.
According to court documents, 19 year old Cayla D. Watson of Altus was arrested by Cushing Police on June 28th for unlawful delivery of a controlled dangerous substance which she allegedly attempted to deliver to an inmate at the prison. If convicted, Watson could face up to two years in prison, and a fine of up to 20 thousand dollars.
Watson made an initial court appearance Wednesday before Associate District Judge Philip Corley, and was given an application for a court appointed attorney. The matter was continued until July 9th.
