Albert “Wayne” Lanham, retired school bus driver, passed away on Wednesday morning, Sept. 24, 2008, at his home at the age of 66 years.

The son of the late Luther Lanham and Martha Bowling Lanham, Wayne was born on August 16, 1942 in London, KY, and was reared and educated in that area.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Dunn on July 15, 1988 in Gainesville, TX and the couple had renewed their vows on December 10, 2005.

Wayne was a member of the Cushing Christian Church; a member of the Cushing Masonic Lodge Number 111; he loved fishing, studying the Bible and watching sports of any kind.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lanham of the home; three daughters, Barbara Sandoval of Santa Fe, NM, Geraldine Lanham of Kapolei, HI and Shannon Taylor of Somerset, KY; two step-daughters, Stacie Casey and her husband James of Prague, OK and Stefanie Stiles of Cushing; two brothers, Elmer Lanham and his wife Dallas of Corbin, KY and Herman Lanham and his wife Sylvia of Hattiesburg, MS; two sisters, Rachel Proffitt of Corbin, KY and Ruby Cox of Ewing, IL; six grandchildren, Devon McGarvey of Kapolei, HI, Amber Taylor, Alayna Taylor and Jimmy Taylor all of Somerset, KY, Alex Hazlett of Pensacola, FL and Mikhail McReynolds of Santa Fe, NM; one step-grandson, Bryan Casey; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one brother, Carl “Babe” Lanham; one sister, Geraldine Mae Lanham and one brother-in-law, Carl Proffitt.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cushing Christian Church with Minister Jim Forrest officiating.
