(Cushing, Okla.) Jim Pickard, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:20 (pm). The agenda started with song and pledge by Rev. Kathy Leithner . This was followed by prayer requests for local families along with prayer by Rev. Kevin Clouse.

Lion Lou Griffin introduced Katlynn Weathers, one of Cushing’s two Agriculture teachers. Weathers then told about growing up in a family of farmers, her love and teaching and plants, and her interest in Agriculture from the time she was in FFA. Currently she is in charge of kids that raise and show goats and lambs, as well as raising, and showing goats herself.

Weathers said this was her first real teaching job and is in her second year of teaching.

Guest Donna Judd won the 50/50 drawing today. The 50/50 drawing is a one dollar per ticket drawing; where in the total amount collected from sold tickets is split between the winner “and” the Lions Club.

The meeting adjourned around 12:45 (pm) and was followed by a Lions Club board meeting.

Cushing Lions Club meets each Tuesday at noon in the Lion’s Den in downtown Cushing.
