WASHINGTON COUNTY, Okla. – The investigation into allegations of embezzlement by a Washington County Sheriff’s Office employee has resulted in an arrest. On May 8, 2020, the Washington County District Attorney requested Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) after learning of possible illegal purchases by 53-year-old Kevin Farley, who was employed as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Sheriff’s Office.
During the investigation, agents discovered that Farley made several purchases of vehicle parts and lawn equipment using county funds. The purchases appeared to be for personal use or were otherwise unjustified. The purchases date back to January 2019.
A probable cause affidavit was issued for Farley for one count of Embezzlement of State Property, which is a felony. He turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, August 17, 2020. He bonded out the same day on a $1,500 bond.
