(Stillwater, Okla.) – A 66-year-old man was arraigned Wednesday on a charge accusing him of molesting the 6-year-old son of friends at their Stillwater apartment between Aug. 1, 2013, and May 31, 2014, court records show.
If convicted, Johnny Lee Graham of Mulhall could be given a prison sentence of three to 20 years, according to the felony charge filed earlier this month. Graham remains free on bond pending a Dec. 27 court appearance with an attorney, court records show.
The alleged molestation of the boy was reported to Stillwater police on March 3, 2015, by a female relative, who was awarded temporary guardianship of the boy and his two siblings, Detective Mary Kellison wrote in an affidavit filed in court records last week.
The relative said that the boy on Sunday, March 1, 2015, “told her he had been kissed on his ‘private parts’ by Johnny,” the affidavit alleged. The relative reported the allegation the next day to the Department of Human Services and then contacted the Stillwater Police Department, the affidavit said.
The boy “told her the incident occurred while his parents were away from the apartment,” while Graham was left with the boy and his siblings, the affidavit alleged.
The boy told his relative “he had been sitting on the couch and his brother and sister were sitting in the chair. They were watching cartoons,” the affidavit alleged.
The boy said that when Graham came into the room, he approached the couch and the boy got up, but Graham “held his hand to get him to sit back down on the couch,” the affidavit alleged.
The boy told his relative that Graham had “kissed him on his thing,” and then told him not to tell anyone what happened, the affidavit alleged.
When the boy was interviewed at the Saville Center in Stillwater on March 18, 2015, he said “It did not feel right” when Graham touched him on his “private,” the affidavit alleged.
Three years later, on March 22, 2018, a Stillwater police officer was sent to the 300 block of N. Main Street near the skate park where the same relative said there was an open investigation of child molestation between the boy and Graham, the affidavit alleged.
The relative said that Graham was not supposed to be around the boy, the affidavit alleged.
The relative said “they were at the skate park over the weekend and she saw Johnny Graham watching them from nearby,” the affidavit alleged. She said that on this date she “observed Johnny Graham sitting in the parking lot to the east of the skate park watching them again,” the affidavit alleged.
The relative said “she called the police department as she was walking over to make contact with Johnny Graham and he left the area,” the affidavit alleged.
About three months later, on June 18, 2018, another officer was sent to the Stillwater Police Department to talk to Graham regarding a threats investigation, the affidavit alleged.
Graham said that when he drove from Mulhall to an auto shop in Stillwater, the same relative “pulled up next to him and confronted him,” the affidavit alleged.
When the relative spoke to the Stillwater detective, “she advised me there was no reason for Johnny (Graham) to drive by her mother’s residence except to look for her,” and the boy, the affidavit alleged.
Graham had taken a route of travel to the auto shop that allowed him access to where the boy and the relative were staying at the time, the affidavit alleged.
“Johnny Graham continues to park and watch (the boy) from a short distance while (the boy) is out playing in public parks,” the affidavit alleged.
