(Cushing)- Cushing City Clerk Cindy Manning says it may not be a record, but it’s the most number of people who have filed for a single City Commission seat in recent memory. On the final day of the three day filing period, three more people have filed declarations of candidacy for Office Number 5 on the Cushing Board of Commissioners, bringing to five the number of people seeking the seat. Jim Hogrefe, Don Amon and Jim Ree filed the required paperwork on Wednesday. They join Carey Seigle, and Lynda Smith as candidates for the seat. Smith is the incumbent, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Board.

A Primary election will take place on March 4th, and a General Election on April 1st.
