(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 23-year-old man, who pleaded guilty last week to possessing and distributing child pornography in 2022 in Stillwater, has been given a 10-year prison term followed by 10 years of probation with an order to provide a DNA sample and register as a sex offender.
Nicholas Kyle Ross, who had been free on $25,000 bail for the past nine months, listed a Yale address when he was taken into custody at his sentencing before Payne County Associate District Judge Michael Kulling last week.
Ross had been arrested at his then-Stillwater residence on Sept. 7, 2022, according to an affidavit by Stillwater Police Detective Stephanie Wheeler.
The detective had been notified on June 8, 2022, of a cyber tip from MediaLab/Kik that “an individual had uploaded/shared apparent child sexual abuse material,” the affidavit said.
Rose was subsequently identified as the suspect, who possessed and distributed child pornography between May 5 and May 7 of 2022, the affidavit said.
