(Morrison) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a 38 year old Noble County woman has died of a gunshot wound, and the woman’s 12 year old son is in custody in connection with the shooting. OSBI Spokeswoman Jessica Brown issued the following statement Thursday:

Noble County Sheriff Charlie Hanger requested OSBI assistance in an investigation into the shooting of a Morrison woman Wednesday. The sheriff’s office was called Wednesday morning when they received information about a woman being found shot inside her home. When the sheriff and deputies arrive at 21140 County Road 250, they found 38-year-old Shannon Renfro wounded from a gunshot to her stomach. Medical personnel rushed Renfro to Stillwater Medical Center where she died a few hours later.

OSBI agents spent hours examining the crime scene and gathering information. After thoroughly evaluating the evidence and receiving preliminary information from the medical examiners office, OSBI determined the shooting was a homicide.

With that determination, agents re-interviewed several people who were inside the home at the time of the shooting. At approximately 8:45 p.m. the woman’s 12-year-old son was taken into custody and transferred to a secured juvenile facility. A probable cause affidavit will be filed with the Noble County District Attorney’s Office later today.
