(Bristow, Okla) — U.S. Army veteran Stephen Carter of Twisted Acres Farm in Bristow, Oklahoma, was selected from more than 400 Farmer Veteran Coalition Fellowship Fund applicants from across the nation to be the next farmer veteran to receive a donated Kubota L Series compact tractor as part of Kubota’s “Geared to Give” program.
Stephen will be recognized by Kubota and his local dealer, Kubota Center, in a special ceremony on his farm. The presentation will be made at 9 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Carter’s Twisted Acres Farm. He will be presented the tractor by John Sloan, Central Division Manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation and John Scott, Owner, Kubota Center.
The “Geared to Give” program, in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition, was designed to provide United States military veterans with the tools needed to pursue a future in farming.
Stephen, who served two tours in Afghanistan, and his wife, Lola, own and operate Twisted Acres Farm, a 45-acre dairy goat operation where they also raise cows and Kunekune pigs. The new Kubota tractor will allow the Carters to be more efficient with their labor as they grow their beef and pork operations on their farm.
