(Cushing, Okla.)  To the Citizen and Employees of the City of Cushing

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support and backing for the last nine years I served on the Council. It was a great pleasure for me to work with all of you and get to know you. It was a pleasure to work with all of the past and present City staff and to know them personally.

Yes, David, you told the truth about me. It WAS one of my concerns to see that the City employees were taken care of, but it was not my only concern. Our employees ARE a great asset to this City. It is the Paramedic that I can call on and depend on when my great grandchildren have an emergency. It is the Firefighter that I can call on and depend on when there is a fire in my neighborhood. It is a Police Officer that I can call on and depend on to protect me and assist me in times of danger. It is Emergency Management that will be there through every storm. And it is the Electric, Water and Sewer department personnel that will be available every time the wind or ice bring down an electric line, freeze the water lines or clog the drainage system. Not one of these employees will follow your pattern of calling their friends together, making a list of my faults, publishing two or three editorials on the subject and then deciding if I am worthy of their response to my need. They will ALWAYS be ready to go to work for me at a moments notice. And even though you may not have any faults, they will respond to your needs, too. And no, David, not ONE time did Joe Manning tell me how to vote. It was always my decision. And by the way, I did NOT resign from my post, I chose not to run for another term.

I will always be grateful to all my supporters.

I wish the City well now, and in the future. It has been my home for the past 50 years. I would like to say thank you to all of my family for their help and support. They were great to be there for me all the time.
