(Cushing, Okla.) The third Saturday of each month is a time where everyone is invited to come enjoy a good hot meal and great fellowship at Peace, Bread & Joy. This ministry was started over a year ago and has blossomed into something people genuinely look forward to attending.
Although the First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of 9th & Little in Cushing, hosts the monthly Peace, Bread & Joy, it is truly a community event. Volunteers from many of our local churches come together to serve a hot meal to those who may not have the resources to do so all month long. However, Peace, Bread & Joy is not just for the nutritional needs of members of the community, but also serves as a way for people to fellowship and get to know their neighbor.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a little Peace, Bread & Joy, Saturday, Aug. 18th, 5 – 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. The hot meal includes BBQ brisket and a good time!
