(Cushing, Okla.) Cushing Christian Church, located at 302 S. Linwood Ave in Cushing, is hosting the annual Ladies Day, Saturday, May 5th, 2012. This year’s theme is “Knowing Jesus.”
“I am very excited about Ladies Day 2012 for several reasons,” Cushing Christian Church pastor Jim Forrest said. “We have two outstanding speakers, a very talented worship leader, great special music, beautiful fellowship with good food before and after the sessions, heartfelt worship as 160 or more ladies from many different church families gather for one purpose, to lift up Christ.”
Heather McAnear will be the keynote speaker. McAnear is an author and a nationally known speaker with a desire to share the liberating truth of God’s word with women. With humor and heart she connects quickly and transparently with her audience. You will find her to be passionate, sincere, and down-to-earth. Laughter and tears have been known to come in the same session as her warmth draws in the audience. She is the author of, “Destinations: A 30-Day Devotional Journey With God.”
Elsie Frost, mother of Lane Frost, 1987 World Champion Bull Rider, the only bull rider to ever ride the famed “Red Rock” for the full 8 seconds, will share the powerful testimony about Lane’s life. Lane Frost lost his life July 30, 1989 at Cheyenne Frontier Days after his dismount on a 90 pint ride. Ms. Frost wants people to know Lane was a good son, good husband, and he knew Jesus.
Leading Worship will be Tiffany Craig Holden, Miss Oklahoma 1994. In addition to winning the Miss Oklahoma title, she also won the talent competition with her outstanding singing ability. You will be blessed by the music she shares at Ladies Day. Her roots run deep in Cushing. She is the daughter of Sue Medlock, pianist at Cushing Christian Church, and granddaughter of Oliver and Oretta Holderread.
Special music will be by “HeartSong” a group of ladies from the First Baptist Church of Cushing. They have a unique ministry of going into nursing homes and homes singing for those who are sick or shut-in.
