Week 2: Our special guest, Lisa Cartmell. Owner and operator of Cushing Electronics, formerly Bargain Hunters. She was a smash. Caller’s said they enjoyed the show. Donna Sue gave us the thumbs up. Lisa was very poised, articulate and downright fun. Growing up in a town called Ipoh, in the tropical country of Malaysia, population a tad bigger than Cushing, 1 mil..Million that is (95 degrees all year round). Her father, 3 brothers and a sister, nieces and nephews, still live in Malaysia. Her mother passed away 6 years ago. She talked about her family coming to America, Disneyland and then Lisa met them in Vegas. The thing Lisa talked about that impressed me the most was her love of America, becoming an American citizen, and of how much she loved Oklahoma. She said people here in Cushing were so gracious and nice. She has made many friends here in Cushing, and even gave a shout out to her good friends Donna Markum and Melvin Martin. Of course we got up close and personal, learning how she & Rich were once pen pals, how she loves reality shows and even that she only weighs 80 pounds.
OK, then down we got down to business. The store opened in 1998 and is doing great. Their hours are from 9 am-7 pm weekdays and from 10-6 on Saturdays. Lisa, Rich her business partner and Brady the greatest technician around and the store pooch, Slash, will be there to help you. She has the converter box and will help you get a $40…rebate. She has cameras, digital picture frames, Toys, Ipods, cell phones and all the accessories. Also complete car audio systems and professional installation. Computers, also doing repairs and upgrades on residential computers, She has so many quality electronics I could not mention them all, but do not want to forget to mention to those of you (including me) that they will demonstrate, assemble, download, and help you learn to use your purchase or nearly anything you bring in to their store if they are able.
