STILLWATER — A 34-year-old Stillwater woman has been jailed on $25,000 bond pending an April 6 court appearance on charges of hitting a sheriff’s deputy with her SUV, running a roadblock at Highway 51 & Fairgrounds Road, threatening to kill a relative, and attempting to elude another sheriff’s deputy.
If convicted of the four-count charge, Morgan Nicole Barron could be incarcerated for 13 and one-half years, court records show.
Barron, who was described as “schizophrenic and bi-polar” by a relative, was arrested at 12:32 pm on March 16 in the 4000 block of E. 6th in Stillwater by Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Brooke Guyot, an affidavit said.
The relative, who had called the sheriff’s office, said that “Morgan was recently kicked out of an Air-B&B for having ‘satanic’ things in the shared common space. (The relative) stated that Morgan had stayed with (a relative) last night and that Morgan was up at 3 am asking for secrets, her passport, and birth certificate,” an affidavit alleged.
The relative said that “Morgan had been accusing them of stealing her DNA and combining it with bovine DNA. She stated that Morgan had called her today and stated that she was on her way from Guthrie to kill her with ‘her own two hands,"” the affidavit alleged.
While deputies were listening on a speakerphone, “Morgan stated to (the relative) that they were going to have a conversation about the truth. Morgan stated that she was about five minutes away. Morgan stated to (her) that they were going to have ‘organized general combat and I’m going to kill you,” the affidavit alleged.
When she arrived at a relative’s home at 10:04 am on March 16 in a Jeep, “Morgan immediately began stating that she needed to report something. Deputy Rose told Morgan that she wasn’t going to report anything, and Morgan turned the vehicle back on and put it into reverse as Deputy Rose and I told her to stop.
“Morgan struck Deputy Rose on his upper left arm with the driver side mirror of her vehicle,” and left — turning westbound onto Highway 51 from the property, Deputy Guyot alleged in the affidavit.
At 10:05 am, “Morgan continued westbound passing Diamond Valley Rd. at speeds of approximately 84 mph…. At about 10:08 am Morgan ran through the roadblock at Highway 51 & Fairgrounds,” before stopping in the 4000 block of E. 6th where she was ordered at gunpoint to get out of the Jeep, the affidavit alleged.
“Holstering our firearms, Deputy Rose and I approached Morgan. Deputy Rose restrained her left side and left arm, and I restrained her right side and right arm. I advised Morgan that she was under arrest for threats to kill and assault on an officer.
“Without prompting or questioning during the transport (to jail), Morgan made statements about being upset that she was unable to get her passport and birth certificate from her family and that she missed a court summons, and that’s what caused this incident. I advised her that I was not going to ask her any questions at this time,” Deputy Guyot alleged in the affidavit.
