STILLWATER, Okla. – The Payne County Health Department and Block 34 are offering Evening Tai Chi beginning April 9 at Block 34 KICKER Soundstage. Classes will be available at 5:45 p.m. April 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Tai Chi is a centuries-old practice designed to exercise the mind and body through a series of gentle, flowing postures. Some of the benefits of participating in this class include improved balance and posture. It can also help in the prevention of falls, the leading cause of injuries among older adults.
“We are excited to be partnering with Block 34,” said Carrie Thomas, Health Educator, who will be leading the class. “If you are looking for a fun, low-stress way to improve your health, then this class is for you. Whether you have some experience in Tai Chi, or you are brand new, this is the course for you.”
For more information about the class, or to reserve a spot, call the Payne County Health Department at (405) 372-8200. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
