   STILLWATER — A Stillwater teenager, who remains jailed on $110,000 bond, has been accused of committing eight crimes, primarily illegal gun possession and car burglaries, in less than a month while he was on felony probation.
   Nathaniel Phipps, 18, has been ordered to appear in court on Feb. 2 on all of his current charges, which carry a maximum penalty of 42 years’ incarceration on conviction.
   Phipps’ latest arrest came at 10:56 pm on Jan. 1, about 90 minutes after a man reported that people in a vehicle had been shooting at his cattle, according to an affidavit by Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Jones.
   On a traffic stop, the driver “reported there were no firearms in the vehicle,” but that he had stopped by a dispensary and bought a dab pen, the affidavit alleged.
   “I knew the smell (coming from the vehicle) to be that of burnt marijuana and not the odor coming from a dab pen,” the deputy alleged in his affidavit.
   During an ensuing search, “In the driver’s door, I located two Luger 9mm rounds,” the deputy alleged in his affidavit. On the back driver’s side seat where Phipps was sitting, there was an opened dab pen and on the floor a credit card in the name of a man whose wallet had been stolen on Dec. 29, 2025, the affidavit alleged.
   Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy John Kuhn located a pistol holster in the trunk area and a gun with accessories valued at $1,268, the affidavit alleged.
   A passenger “reported that Phipps pulled the firearm out, and they rolled down their windows and started shooting…after they were done shooting, Phipps threw the firearm in the truck compartment of the vehicle,” the affidavit alleged.
   “Phipps reported he did not shoot a gun, and that he ‘is a felon and can’t be around that,"” the affidavit alleged.
   Another passenger “reported that Phipps was doing most of the shooting and that he showed the gun to everyone,” the affidavit alleged.
   “I asked the group who the gun belonged to, and no one claimed ownership,” the deputy wrote in his affidavit.
   The caller “advised that he heard approximately 17-20 shots. He stated he heard some shots, went outside, and heard some more shots. He reported he went to retrieve his gun, and as he was driving down his driveway, he saw the vehicle leaving his property to the west of his residence and followed the vehicle,” the affidavit alleged.
   In addition to that charge filed as possession of a firearm while on felony probation, Phipps has also been accused of:
   * burglarizing three cars in Stillwater on New Year’s Eve;
   * possessing a stolen Honda 4-wheeler priced at $5,000 on Dec. 12, 2025, that was posted on Facebook Marketplace;
   * possessing a 9mm pistol while on probation on Dec. 5, 2025, resisting arrest on Dec. 16, 2025, and resisting arrest on Dec. 18, 2025;
   Phipps had pleaded guilty on Aug. 8, 2025, to breaking into a Honda in rural Stillwater with intent to steal $2,500 in the glove box on July 1, 2025, and been given a 90-day jail term on a seven-year probationary deferred sentence with random drug tests, community service, restitution and full-time employment ordered, court records show.
