STILLWATER — A woman, whose car motor reportedly fell out when her Chevy Impala struck a Dodge Ram pickup, has been ordered to appear in court on Feb. 18 on charges of repeatedly punching an emergency medical care provider at Stillwater Medical Center and driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in an injury accident.
If convicted of the two-count charge, Yasmin Gabriela Castellanos, 21, of McCloud, could be incarcerated for three years and fined $3,500. She remains free on $5,000 bond, court records show.
Stillwater Police Officer Casey Rogers had been sent at 11:21 pm on Dec. 13, 2025, to N. Duck St. and W. Maple Ave. on a report of a collision with injuries, according to his affidavit.
“Witnesses at the scene reported the suspect, Yasmin Gabriela Castellanos, was traveling eastbound on W. 4th Ave and ran the stop sign at W. 4th Ave. and N. Duck St. turning northbound on Duck St. Witnesses advised Yasmin was following a vehicle in the far east lane before changing lanes to pass the vehicle,” when her car began to lose control at the intersection of W. Maple and N. Duck, the affidavit alleged.
“Witnesses stated that Yasmin’s vehicle began to swerve back and forth before completely going sideways into a side slip and entering the southbound traffic. Yasmin’s vehicle then struck the victim’s truck in the front driver’s side knocking that vehicle into the grassy area just west of the roadway. Yasmin’s vehicle struck the victim’s truck hard enough to completely dislodge the motor from her vehicle — leaving it laying in the middle of the roadway,” the affidavit alleged.
After being transported to the Stillwater Medical Center to be treated for her wounds, “Yasmin was very uncooperative the entire time due to her level of intoxication. Yasmin would pull off her head dressing, which the SMC staff replaced several times. During one of the incidents, Yasmin became very combative saying the SMC staff was not caring for her and began to fight them” — punching a staffer several times in the chest before officers entered the room and restrained her to the hospital bed, the affidavit alleged.
“Even after being restrained, Yasmin continued to move her head around, pulling off her bandage and yelling for assistance once her head would begin to bleed again. The SMC staff brought out a half-full mini bottle of Wheatley vodka that was in Yasmin’s jacket pocket, which she was wearing while driving her vehicle. Once Yasmin was cleared by the SMC staff, I then placed her under arrest for DUI, assault and battery on a medical care provider, and transporting an open container,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
