STILLWATER — A 42-year-old Stillwater woman with a history of drug arrests has been jailed on $100,000 bond pending a Feb. 2 court appearance on a charge of trafficking fentanyl on Christmas Eve.
Due to her criminal record, Lorri Lee Hyde could be given a prison term ranging from four years to life plus a fine of $100,000 to $250,000 if convicted.
Hyde was a passenger in a vehicle on Perkins Road that was stopped at 3:14 pm on Dec. 24, 2025, for a left taillight not working, Stillwater Police Detective Newly McSpadden alleged in an affidavit filed on the day after Christmas.
“As I was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, I could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Both occupants stated they did not have a marijuana card. Lorri immediately began asking to speak with me, and she confirmed she had a warrant.
“Under the driver’s seat, I observed a 9mm semi-automatic pistol which the driver claimed as his. In the center console, I located 11.5 grams of marijuana, which was wrapped in tin foil.
“When I searched the area where Lorri was sitting, I observed a blue plastic basket and inside the basket there was a glass pipe with burnt residue, along with several pieces of foil with burnt residue. Inside one piece of foil, it contained 0.2 grams of a white rock substance believed to be fentanyl.
“Inside Lorri’s purse (containing her wallet and identification card), there was a zipper-style makeup bag,” that had a container with a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, a folded dollar bill with a light blue substance believed to be fentanyl and another container with a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl,” the detective alleged n his affidavit.
After she was transferred to jail and the driver allowed to leave, the detective tested a portion of the powdery substance, which showed presumptively positive for the presence of fentanyl, the affidavit alleged.
According to Payne County court records and the state Department of Corrections, Hyde had been released to probation from prison in 2021 after being incarcerated for two years for possessing stolen property in 2019, as well as drugs in 2017 and 2013. She had been placed on probation in 2009 for actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated and in 2006 for drug possession, DOC records show.
