STILLWATER — A Stillwater High School senior has been jailed on $30,000 bond pending a Jan. 5 court appearance on charges of raping, choking and biting a juvenile while he was in her residence.
If convicted of first-degree rape, Canyn Rion Porter, 18, could be given a prison sentence ranging from five years to life without parole. Porter could be given four years’ incarceration if convicted of strangling the juvenile and biting her face and neck.
Stillwater Police Detective James Droescher was sent at 3:25 am on Nov. 10 to the juvenile’s residence where he was advised by Officer Taylor Ballard that she “had alleged that Canyn had raped her while strangling her and that he bit her on the face and neck. Officer Ballard told me that he had observed injuries to (her) face and neck consistent with being bitten.
“Officer Ballard advised me that he had spoken with Canyn and that Canyn had alleged that the sexual intercourse between him and (the juvenile) was consensual,” the detective wrote in his affidavit.
While the girl left with her mother to go to Stillwater Medical Center for a sexual assault nurse’s examination, her father told the detective, “he had been awake at approximately 1:30 am when he heard a door closing in the far end of the trailer…He said that Canyn fled the residence making suicidal statements at that point. He said he was able to locate Canyn and bring him back to the house until law enforcement arrived,” the affidavit alleged.
After his arrest, “I confirmed with Canyn that he was attending Stillwater High School where he is in the 12th grade. During the custodial interrogation, Canyn admitted the following: Canyn admitted that he had gone to (the juvenile’s) room that night. Canyn admitted that during the intercourse he was biting (her), which he described as nibbles.
“During the interrogation Canyn denied ever placing his hand on (her) neck but stated several times that if she had injuries to her neck that he was the person responsible for those injuries,” the detective alleged in his affidavit.
When the juvenile was interviewed on Nov. 14 at the Saville Center for Child Advocacy, she said, “Canyn had placed his hand on her neck prior to them engaging in sexual intercourse. While Canyn had his hand on her neck, he would ask her questions and if she did not answer the question or answered in a manner he did not like, he would apply more pressure to her neck.
“She disclosed that when Canyn would apply pressure to her neck, she had difficulty breathing and it was painful,” the affidavit alleged.
