From the opening scene, viewers are taken back to Heard’s ninth birthday when he was first introduced to the music of The Righteous Brothers by his sweet mother with a copy of their single, “Rock and Roll Heaven,” sparking the young man’s desire to pursue a career in music. From there, the story unfolds like a time machine, dropping in on various birthday celebrations throughout Heard’s life as he makes wishes, blows out the candles and keeps on believing that his musical dream will come true one day. Those clips are interspersed with shots of a recent high-energy live concert performance with Heard and his band.

The video is especially poignant because Heard’s childhood inspiration would eventually become reality when he was offered a position in the legendary Righteous Brothers in 2016. Heard is joined in the video by his Righteous Brothers partner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Bill Medley who acts in the video and co-directs along with Heard. The clip was lensed by Chris Canote of Canote Films.

“What makes it even more special is that in every scene, throughout my life, Bill Medley is present but only seen by me which is indicative of the fact that he has been with me on this journey from the very beginning,” says an emotional Heard. “Having Bill as part of this video with me was beyond special as we did our best to creatively weave the story of my musical journey into this amazing song.”

“My Best Days” was written by Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member Kent Blazy (“If Tomorrow Never Comes,” and “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til The Sun Comes Up)” – Garth Brooks), and hitmaker Marv Green (“Amazed” – Lonestar). The track was produced by Bob Bullock (Shania Twain, Reba, George Strait, Keith Urban, and REO Speedwagon, among many others).

The Righteous Brothers are currently on their Farewell Tour and Heard is performing select solo shows.
