STILLWATER — A 21-year-old Stillwater man, who reportedly is a student at Oklahoma State University, has been charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material following a nearly six-month investigation by Stillwater Police Detective Stephanie Wheeler.
Jordyn Wilkerson Baskin was arrested after four devices were seized from his residence on a search warrant on Feb. 11. He was freed the next day on $50,000 bond pending an April 17 court appearance with an attorney.
In a Feb. 11 police interview, Baskin “was advised of his Miranda rights. He understood his rights and waived his rights, agreeing to speak with myself and Detective Mary Kellison. During the interrogation, he stated he had received and sent child sexual abuse material. (CSAM).
“He also stated on his cellphone (iPhone seized) there would be approximately 1,000 media files containing CSAM in the ‘Trash,"” Detective Wheeler alleged in her affidavit.
The investigation had begun on Aug. 29, 2024, when the detective was notified of a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the affidavit said.
“Kik reported that an individual saved, shared or uploaded child sexual abuse material,” the affidavit alleged.
After multiple search warrants were served for IP addresses and subscriber information, “On Nov. 11, 2024, I downloaded the Kik return. In the ‘Content’ folder, there were 49 files of child sexual abuse material. There were some photos which included a male’s face. I was able to identify him as Jordyn Baskin based on his driver’s license photo.
“In the conversations, the user exchanges messages stating he has content as young as 10. There is discussion of selling and purchasing cloud links with this content. The subscriber provides the PayPal account to make a purchase. ‘CP’ is referenced. In my experience this stands for child porn.
“Based on the conversations and Jordyn using the words, ‘younger’ and ‘CP’ it appears he is actively looking for child pornography,” the affidavit alleged.
“There were 29 media files included in the Cyber Tip. Of the 29 files listed, one was age difficult. I identified the remaining 28 files as being child sexual abuse material involving both prepubescent and pubescent minor females.
“I located multiple chats where they are discussing ‘trading’ content. In my experience and training, this is related to trading pornographic material. In the conversations the user exchanges messages stating he is into content as young as 13. In another conversation he states he is a current student with OSU Animal Science.
“While going through the media files, I located photos of Jordyn at graduation and what appears to be prom or some sort of formal event. In a chat, he says he sent a picture of him at prom and at graduation to prove he was in a relationship with the female,” the affidavit alleged.
