(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 20-year-old Cushing man, who admitted committing a robbery with an unnamed male, has been given a one-year jail term followed by four years of probation with extensive conditions, as part of a plea agreement with the prosecution approved in court by District Judge Jason Reese Friday.
Aiidan Noah Moreland-Owens, who has a ninth-grade education according to his written guilty plea, was ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation, follow any recommendations in it, undergo random drug tests, provide a DNA sample, enroll in Work Force, and pay various costs.
Moreland-Owens was originally charged with armed robbery, but later an alternative count of conjoint robbery was filed, to which he pleaded guilty Friday.
Cushing police had been dispatched to a residence at 10:36 pm on May 18, 2024, on a report of an armed robbery, court records show.
The victim said “Ace” Aiiden Owens had come into the south side of his residence, the pool area. (He) advised he knew it was Aiiden as he had a ski mask on; however, it was too big and he could see his face.
“He advised Aiiden came into the residence with his pistol and a strobe light. He advised another male had his gun pointed at them, and Aiiden and the other male advised to give them everything they got.
“(The victim) advised the (other) male shot the gun up into the ceiling, took their phones and then ran out the front door. (He) advised he had to use the neighbor’s phone to call 911. (He) invited me into the residence, and I went to the back of the residence where I located a single .380 shell casing,” Cushing Police Officer David Smith alleged in an affidavit.
