(Stillwater, Okla.)  — A Stillwater man has been jailed on $100,000 bail pending his arraignment today on a charge of trafficking methamphetamine, which was stuffed into the frame of an electric scooter when it was folded in half, an affidavit alleged.
“This is the first time I have seen this concealment method,” Stillwater Police Detective Josh Carson wrote in an affidavit.
Brian Dominic Wallace, 44, was arrested after he rode up on an electric scooter to an apartment complex on Elm Street on Sept. 26 while a search warrant was being served, the affidavit said.
“I had just received information about Brian Wallace staying at 118 W. Elm ‘B’ and using the address to sell methamphetamine.
“I know Brian Wallace from numerous previous encounters. I arrested Brian Wallace in 2022 for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Brian received a ten-year suspended sentence.
“Since the (2022) arrest, I have received complaints from several informants in regard to Brian Wallace actively selling methamphetamine in Stillwater,” the detective alleged in his affidavit.
In his new case, “Wallace stated he was a ‘smoker’ and did not sell drugs. Wallace told me he hid a ‘zip’ of methamphetamine in his scooter. A ‘zip’ is a common street term for an ounce of methamphetamine. An ounce of methamphetamine is far beyond that of a drug addict.
“Methamphetamine addicts commonly consume a tenth of a gram at a time and know possessing a large amount of methamphetamine carries a much stiffer penalty.
“Wallace told me how to open the scooter. I observed a plastic zip top baggy stuffed into the frame of the scooter when it was folded in half.
“A total of 25.5 grams of methamphetamine was seized. This weight is consistent with what Wallace admitted to having,” the detective alleged in his affidavit.
