(Cushing, Okla.) — A 66-year-old father, his 42-year-old son, and a 43-year-old woman were arrested by Cushing police after a search warrant was served at their residence in the 500 block of E. Cherry Street — about 500 feet north of Memorial Park, court records show.
Johnny Adam Mendez Sr., Johnny Adam Mendez Jr., and Chelsea Michelle Kendrick, all of whom are reportedly convicted felons, were jailed on methamphetamine charges on Sept. 30 pending their arraignments in Payne County District Court on Tuesday.
Cushing Police Officer David Smith had obtained a search warrant for their residence after a traffic stop in which an individual “admitted to buying methamphetamine from Chelsea Kendrick,” an affidavit alleged.
The father, who was described in an affidavit as a convicted felon, was charged with possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute and having drug paraphernalia described as multiple smoking devices and scales. He was ordered jailed on $50,000 bail.
His son was charged with possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possessing two pistols and a .22 caliber rifle after a prior California felony conviction for knowingly concealing stolen property, and also having drug paraphernalia. He was also ordered jailed on $50,000 bail.
The woman, who was ordered held on $30,000 bail, said she had been living at the residence for about three years, an affidavit alleged. She was charged with possessing marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possessing two pistols and a .22 caliber rifle after a prior California felony conviction for knowingly concealing stolen property, and also having drug paraphernalia.
