(Perkins, Okla.) — A man and two women, all from out-of-town, have been jailed on $2,500 bail each pending court appearances next week on charges of breaking into an unoccupied house in rural Perkins and vandalizing it — leaving about $2,200 in damages.
David Allen Prozzo Jr., 32, of Stillwater; Tammy Renee Thompson, 49, of Stillwater, also known by the surnames of Bench and Wolfe; and Chelsea D’Jeanne Duncan, 40, of Cushing, also known by the surnames of Battle and Pollard; could each be given as much as four years’ incarceration and $1,500 in fines if convicted.
The trio were arrested at the house, which is in probate, in the 10,000 block of S. Perkins Road at 11:26 am on June 20, Payne County Sheriff’s Sgt. Justin Henninger wrote in an affidavit.
When Henninger arrived at 9:33 am to begin his investigation, Perkins Police Officers Dylan Anderson and Carsen Gaedon “had three people handcuffed and placed in patrol vehicles,” according to his affidavit.
Officer Anderson said that he ordered Prozzo and Thompson, who came out of the same bedroom, to crawl back to him, and then they were secured in his patrol car, the affidavit alleged.
After the pair were handcuffed, the Perkins officers went back inside and retrieved from the same bedroom Duncan, who was secured in a deputy’s patrol car, the affidavit alleged.
“I spoke with Chelsea (Duncan), and I asked her what she was doing at this residence. She told me she walked with a guy from (a convenience store) to the residence. I asked her what his name was, and she told me she did not know,” the sheriff’s sergeant alleged in his affidavit.
“I then went and spoke with David (Prozzo) and Tammy (Thompson) at the same time. I asked David why he was at this house. He told me his uncle is a realtor and told him it was ok for him to stay there,” the sheriff’s sergeant alleged in his affidavit.
When the property owners overseeing the house while it is in probate were asked when they were last at the house, they said it was on May 18, 2022, the sheriff’s sergeant wrote in his affidavit.
“They came to check on the property on this date (June 20, 2022) and learned someone was inside the residence which should not have been there,” the affidavit alleged.
“In the living room, there was paint splashed on the fireplace and walls, which (they) told me it was not like that the last time they were here,” and estimated that damage at $500, the affidavit alleged. In the dining room, “The door was broken off, and they estimated damages in the amount of $200.
“I observed there to be pry marks on the window. There were pry marks on the back door frame, and it was apparent that someone kicked the door at some point,” which had about $500 damage, the sheriff’s sergeant wrote in his affidavit.
“Throughout the residence, there was trash and dog feces. This damage was in a total of five rooms (three bedrooms, living room and dining room.) They estimated damages in the amount of $1,000 to clean the carpet,” the affidavit alleged.
“There were two dogs on scene that David (Prozzo) claimed as his. I requested Perkins Police Department to assist in taking the dogs to the pound,” the sheriff’s sergeant wrote in his affidavit.
