(Stillwater, Okla.) — A teenager was released from the Payne County Jail Wednesday on $10,000 bail pending an Oct. 6 court appearance with an attorney on a charge of stealing an SUV from the parking garage of an apartment complex in Stillwater.

If convicted, Zachary Andrew Biggs, 18, of Stillwater, could be given as much as a five-year prison term and fined up to three times the value of the SUV, court records show.

When screenshots from surveillance video obtained by Stillwater Police Sgt.TJ Low were emailed to other officers the day after the theft, Biggs and a 14-year-old juvenile were quickly identified as the two suspects taking the SUV on Sept. 16, Detective John Paul Johnson alleged in an affidavit filed last week.

“Biggs is the obviously older subject in the screenshots and (the juvenile) is the one pointing a gun at the surveillance camera,” the affidavit alleged.

The video showed the two suspects “getting into the black car, in the background of the screenshot, and exiting the apartment complex parking garage,” the affidavit alleged.
