(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Perkins man — on 15 years’ probation for cultivating marijuana east of Brush Creek Road on Highway 33 in rural Perkins in 2011 — has been charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a .9mm pistol, driving under the influence of an intoxicating substance at 92nd and Washington, and possessing methamphetamine along with a methamphetamine smoking pipe, all on Dec. 23 in a case investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Long.
Collin Matthew Houston, 42, was released from the Payne County Jail on Dec. 24 on $7,500 bail with an order to appear in court with an attorney on Jan. 23.
If convicted of the four-count charge, Houston could be incarcerated for as long as 13 years and fined $13,000, court records show.
Court records show that Houston was charged in 2011 with cultivating marijuana on land one-fourth of a mile east of Brush Creek Road on Highway 33 in rural Perkins, possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, possessing five guns during the commission of a felony, having marijuana without a tax stamp, injuring a two-story house on that property by firing shotguns, rifles and handguns that damaged walls, glass and doors, as well as possessing drug paraphernalia including grow lights, digital scales and baggies.
Five months later, Houston pleaded guilty to all six counts in that 2011 charge for which he was fined $10,000 and given six concurrent terms of probation with an order to enroll in the Logan County Drug Court program, which he completed 14 months later, court records show.
