(Stillwater, Okla.) A 21-year-old Perkins man has been ordered into the state prison boot camp program on his guilty pleas to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, along with having drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.
Casey Lorenz Reinhardt was originally charged with also possessing a .223 caliber Smith and Wesson M&P 15 AR in the commission of a felony, but that count was dropped last week by the prosecution before Reinhardt pleaded guilty to his other counts.
Reinhardt has been jailed since his arrest at 5:43 p.m. on June 8 by Stillwater Police Officer James Hansen, who conducted a traffic stop of a green pickup at 500 E. 6th Street, according to his affidavit.
Reinhardt did not have a license, but provided an identification card, the affidavit said.
“After seeing drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, Casey (Reinhardt) and his passenger exited the vehicle,” the affidavit said.
On an inventory of the impounded vehicle, the officer found a prescription bottle with methamphetamine in about one-third of the bottle, the affidavit said. The methamphetamine weighed 8.4 grams, the affidavit said.
“Several clear plastic baggies, as well as a digital scale and smoking paraphernalia, were located in the center console.
“Several more baggies were located in the glove compartment.
“In the backseat, a green camouflaged rifle case, which contained a Smith & Wesson M&P AR style rifle chambered in .223 caliber.
“A ‘PMAG’ magazine loaded with 30 rounds of .223 ammunition and another 100 rounds of .223 ammunition were also in the case.
“Also found in the backseat was a ‘Benzomatic’ torch,” the affidavit said.
The officer found $2,727 on Reinhardt, the affidavit said.
“Casey admitted that the substance was methamphetamines and he had purchased the substance approximately three hours prior to his arrest.
“He stated he paid $300 for what he believed was 7 grams of the substance and was going to give 3.5 grams to a friend for half the price he paid.
“He stated he planned to ‘get rid of it’ and planned to make $750 by selling the 7 grams,” the affidavit said.
The Regimented Inmate Discipline (RID) prison program that Reinhardt was ordered into last week normally takes about six months. Reinhardt was told to return to court on May 4, 2016, to be sentenced by Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler.
Reinhardt has waived his right to a speedy trial on a misdemeanor charge of abusing his girlfriend on July 7.
