(Stillwater, Okla.) – A convicted sex offender incarcerated in the Cimarron Correctional Facility has been given an additional two-year sentence for attacking a female guard at the private prison in Cushing.
Corey Antoine Hightower, 36, who has been in prison for eight and one-half years, pleaded guilty earlier this month to assault and battery on a correctional officer in Cushing on April 24, court records show.
Hightower must complete his sentences for two sex offenses in Oklahoma County before he begins to serve a two-year prison term for the attack in Payne County, for which he was also given $250 in fines and assessments on Oct. 16.
A Cushing prison guard reported that she was attacked by Hightower while she was serving lunch to inmates at 11:45 a.m. on April 24, according to an affidavit by Cushing Police Officer Christopher Haywood.
She said that Hightower took his food at the open food port before reaching out, grabbing the guard’s duty belt and pulling her to the door, the affidavit said.
The guard said “she attempted to release herself from Hightower’s hold and was punched twice by his free hand in her side,” the affidavit said.
She said “she was able to release Hightower’s hold and left the scene to be evaluated by medical, where she was later sent to Pipeline Crossroads Clinic,” the affidavit said.
She received abdominal contusions from the attack, the affidavit said.
Cimarron Correctional Facility supplied video of the incident, the affidavit said.
According to state Department of Corrections records, Hightower served about three and one-half years of a five-year prison term for larceny from a house in 2004 in Oklahoma County, after his original probation was revoked in 2007.
When he finished that sentence in 2010, Hightower began serving an 11-year prison term for forcible oral sodomy in 2006 in Oklahoma County, DOC records show.
After Hightower completes that sentence in 2021, he must serve a three-year prison term for indecent exposure in 2006 in Oklahoma County, DOC records show.
