Some unexpected guests from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were introduced to club members today (missionaries Elder Jeffs, Elder Allman, Sister Jensen, and Sister Dopp). Jeffs told the club that each missionary pays for their own mission and that the length of each mission ranges anywhere from two years to 18 months in length. Missionaries also pay a flat rate from home and the church works to organize the mission and decide where the missionaries will be sent. Jeffs said that he thought being a missionary would help him to be more of a good husband and dad and at least one of them stated that, during the mission here in Oklahoma, they had developed more of “a conversion towards Christ” and that the work they do is to “benefit the Lord.”
