(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A personal injury collision occurred on October 7th (2015) at approximately 4:38 (am) at State Highway 20 and State Highway 18 approximately 3.5 miles south of Fairfax, in Osage County.
A 1996 Chevrolet truck that was being driven by a driver, whose personal information is unknown at this time, was westbound on State Highway 20 when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign located at a “T” intersection at State Highway 18. The vehicle crossed the roadway and went down an embankment approximately 40′ before coming to a rest.
Zachary J. Sabus (32) of Ripley was transported by Miller EMS (Fairfax) to Stillwater Medical Center where he was admitted in stable condition with head injuries. Daniel G. Clark (21) of Ripley was not injured. Sabus and Clark were both passengers in the truck.
The Department of Public Safety report shows the cause of collision to be failing or failure to stop.
Some seat-belts were in use according to the DPS report.
