(Cushing, Okla.)   The Cushing Police are asking for your help if you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood to report the suspicious activity to police in a timely manner.

A quick and accurate description of events, vehicles, and persons can make all the difference in apprehending a potential criminal. Any type of activity or circumstance that seems unusual should be reported by calling 911. Citizens should report: suspicious activities, people and vehicles; illegal activities; unusual events or incidents; and or dangerous situations.

What exactly is “suspicious activity”?

Suspicious activity can refer to incidents, events, individuals or circumstances that seem unusual or out of place.

Some common examples of suspicious activity include:

• A stranger loitering in your neighborhood

• A vehicle cruising the streets repeatedly

• Someone peering into cars or windows

• Sounds of breaking glass• Screaming or fighting

What Can You Do if You See Suspicious Activity?

Call the Police

1. From a safe location, get a good description of the suspicious vehicle, (color, make, license plate if possible.)

2. How many people are in the vehicle if known

3. Descriptions of the suspicious individual(s) (color of pants, color of shirt, color of hair, is the person wearing a hat…)

4. Direction in which the suspicious person or vehicle was last seen traveling.

By reporting these types of suspicious activities, citizens can help Law Enforcement make their community safer, minimize victimization, reduce violence and improve the overall quality of life.
