“People say they want different. Well, Makenna & Brock are exactly that. The production is very in-your-face, and sets itself apart with their ultra-tight harmonies. If this is any indication,’Burnin’ The Night Down’ is going to start more than a few fires!” – Chuck Dauphin, Billboard

Makenna Sullinger and Brock Wade are a real-life couple – on and off stage – and the chemistry between them is undeniable. And while their repertoire of songs runs the emotional gamut ofyoung love, “Burnin’ The Night Down” is a sassy and powerful counter-point to the typical sad Country “break up” song.
“There aren’t really a lot of songs on Country radio that talk about moving on when a relationship ends,” states Makenna. “They are usually more from the stand-point of one person in therelationship wanting the other one back. Brock and I wanted to write a song that says that they CAN move on – and everything will be okay. Life goes on and it’s okay to not feel sad about breaking away from a bad relationship,” she says. Brock adds, “We watch so much drama on Facebook about relationships falling apart and we wanted to let them know that sometimes it’s better if you just say ‘enough is enough’ and move on.”
Makenna & Brock – who split their time between their home base of Springfield, MO and Nashville – first captured the hearts of millions of viewers and all four judges as Top-12 finalists on the hit television show, The X-Factor in 2011. Their show-stopping performance garnered critical acclaim from the esteemed judging panel, which included Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole, and L.A. Reid, Chairman/CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group. Subsequently, Makenna & Brock received exposure in major publications such as People, the Washington Post, Rolling Stone, and many prominent websites, including CNN.com, CBS.com, and MTV.com.
Makenna & Brock maintain a busy touring schedule performing throughout the U.S. where they have built a dedicated fan base while honing their high-energy show into one of the Midwest’s top acts for corporate events, concerts, festivals and club dates. The duo is also in-demand as National Anthem performers, having sung the “Star Spangled Banner” for the St. Louis Rams, PBR events around the country, the OilPatch Festival in Oklahoma, and at the Texas Motor Speedway. They are slated for a return performance for the Rams on November 6.
When the pair isn’t on tour, they are in Nashville co-writing with a bevy of established writers, including Dave Robbins, Amanda Williams, Wendy Newcomer, and others.
“Burnin’ The Night Down” was co-produced by Paul Carabello and Clif Doyal. The production showcases the passionate lead vocals and harmonies of both Makenna & Brock, and in a break from the traditional route of utilizing session players, the track features the duo’s own dynamic touring band, including Mike Muhlenbruch on drums; Kyle Vance on bass guitar; and Ben Harrell on lead guitar, joined by multi-instrumentalist, Carabello, on guitars and banjo.
