(Cushing, Okla.) Russ Thurman, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:27 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by request for prayers and the prayer with Pastor Kathleen Leithner.

The 4 Person Open Scramble, sponsored by the Cushing Lions Club, is still needing teams for the September 12th (2015) Golf Tournament (at present there are 8 teams registered). Contact Gerald Jolley for more information about sponsoring a hole or getting a golf team together (918) 225–0660, Jolley Realty. All proceeds go to benefit Lions Club “Sight Testing” program.

Approval was given for the replacement of the front awning at the Lions Den in the amount of $2,055.08.

The Lion’s Den is also available for rent at $50 per hour without the use of the kitchen, and $75 per hour with the use of the kitchen. If interested in renting space Contact Russell Thurman at 405-747-4155 (restrictions may apply).

Tom Cummings reminded club members that the Lions will be doing their sight testing at 9:00 (am) and 3:30 (pm) on Wednesday, September 10th (2015) at First United Methodist Church (Cushing).

Club members were asked if they would like to attend the Monday, September 14th (2015) organizational meeting regarding “Keep Oklahoma Beautiful” affiliate program at the Public Safety Center (Cushing) at 6:00 (pm).

Cowboy Cadillac ticket sales are now underway at $5 per ticket or 7 tickets for $30 and Lions annual fruit sales are coming up shortly.

Festival in the Park is Saturday, October 10th (2015). If you are interested in registering for the Chili Cook Off there is a $35 fee and you can complete your registration by contacting Jim Pickard or Russ Thurman. Tickets for a Chili Taster Kit are just $5 per person.

Matching shirts for Lions Club member are going to be $17 each when the club is ready to order them.
