(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.

 

An injury collision occurred on Saturday, September 5th (2015) at approximately 1:48 (am) on Union Road at Yost Road which is located 1.5 miles south and 1.5 west of Glencoe, in Payne County.

 

Austin D. Graham (19) of Morrison was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on Union Road, when he encountered Ryan C. Short (21) of Glencoe. Short who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu was eastbound on Yost Road when the Chevy pickup truck driven by Graham failed to stop at a the stop sign striking the Chevy Malibu broadside. Both vehicles departed the roadway to the northeast coming to rest against a fence. The Chevy truck rolled one time, ejecting one of the Passengers, Brent C. Coleman (20) of Morrison before coming to rest on its wheels.

 

Graham was transported by personal vehicle to Stillwater Medical Center in stable condition, where he was treated and released. Braden G. Jones (19) of Morrison a passenger in Graham’s truck was also transported by personal vehicle to Stillwater Medical Center where he was treated and released and Coleman the second passenger in Graham’s truck was taken by LifeNet  to Stillwater Medical Center in stable condition, he was transferred on to St. John’s Hospital (Tulsa). The driver of the Chevy Malibu, Short was taken by personal vehicle to Stillwater Medical Center where he was also treated and released.

 

Seat-belts were equipped in both vehicles but were not in being used in the Chevy truck. An odor of alcohol was smelled in the Chevy truck and the DPS report shows the cause of collision was due to failure to stop/DUI.
