In order to protect consumers and reduce the costs of fraud, U.S. credit card issuers have introduced cards which contain computer chips. Because of this change in technology, the City of Cushing is purchasing new credit card readers which are equipped to read the chipped cards and we are hoping to have the machines in place by the Oct. 1 deadline.
At this time, the new credit card readers will not be able to be used at the drive through window so all credit card transactions must be made inside the Utility Office or by phone.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may create while our hardware and software vendors work on a viable solution for taking drive through window credit card payments.
