(Drumright, Okla.) Soon the rumble of motorcycles and the music of guitars will fill the air in Drumright, Oklahoma. On August 29, 2015 two benefits have been set up for the Fire Chief Wade Guyer.
The day will kick off at 9am at the Drumright Fire Department with a Poker Run traveling to Forman’s Harley Davidson in Stillwater with the help of the Stillwater Fire Department, to Cleveland Fire Department then Mannford Fire Department making a final stop in Olive at the First Baptist Church with the help of Olive Fire Department before continuing on to finish at Whitlock Park in Drumright.
Bikers and car enthusiasts from all over the state are expected to participate in the benefit, poker run cards are just $25 and $15 for passengers and additional hands. Prizes will be awarded for high and low hands, along with several door prices.
To end the ride, a benefit concert will take place at the park with gates opening at 4pm. Tickets are $20 at the gate or may be purchased in advance online; more information is available on the Pray For Wade Facebook Page. Taking the Stage at 5pm is local favorite Jumbo Shrimp, followed by Nashville Recording Artists Jason Savory at 6:30pm The Sarah Dunn Band at 8pm and Bo Phillips at 9:30.
Dinner will also be served by the Drumright Fire Department and Pacer’s BBQ Pit Crew for $10 while supplies last.
Drumright’s Fire Chief was diagnosed with Burkett’s Lymphoma Leukemia in early June and has spent the last months in and out of the hospital. He is currently receiving his third of four intense treatments. With luck, he will be able to spend Labor Day Weekend home and not in the hospital.
All money raised at the benefits will go directly to the Guyer family to help with expenses.
