(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A fatality collision occurred on Saturday, August 22nd. (2015) at approximately 8:23 (pm) on State Highway 51 (0.1 miles west of Fairgrounds Road) about 0.9 miles East of Stillwater, in Payne County.
Jimmy R. Ross (49) of Glencoe was travelling westbound on State Highway 51 when the 2007 Harley Davidson he was driving departed the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. Ross was thrown from motorcycle approximately 24′ north and 15′ east from the ending point of the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries by M.E. Investigator Greg Turner.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation according to the DPS.
